## Description

Dole-Jura Airport (DLE/LFGJ) at Tavaux handled 125,141 passengers in 2025 and remains a passenger-only regional field in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté with no commercial cargo handling. Ryanair carries almost all scheduled traffic, to Porto, Fès and Marrakech, complemented by a Corsica link in which Air Corsica is involved. The renovated runway reopened in July 2025 and traffic has been growing again since; even so, there is no freight terminal, no freighter operation and no standing cargo customs facility, so goods move only as occasional belly loads. It was different once: from 1993 until the end of 2013 Dole worked as a night mail stop, with Europe Airpost flying five nights a week to Paris-Roissy and about 1,240 tonnes of mail handled in 2010. Air freight from the Jura and Franche-Comté now routes via EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL) or Lyon Saint-Exupéry (LYS), both a few hours away by road feeder service on the A39 and A36 motorways. The airport sits some seven kilometres southwest of Dole, roughly 43 kilometres from Dijon and 50 kilometres from Besançon.
