## Description

Dodoma has been Tanzania's official capital since 1996, yet its city airport (DOD) remains modest: Air Tanzania and a few domestic operators link it mainly with Dar es Salaam and Mwanza. There is no cargo terminal for forwarders, and air freight is limited to occasional belly loads on passenger flights. International and larger shipments for the region route through Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR), about 450 kilometres east and connected to Dodoma by rail and trunk road.
