Lockheed Martin builds the C-130J Super Hercules at Air Force Plant 6 here, on what is the longest-running military aircraft line in history, while the resident 94th Airlift Wing of the Air Force Reserve flies the older C-130H from the same runway: Dobbins Air Reserve Base (IATA: MGE, ICAO: KMGE) in Marietta, north of Atlanta, is a military-industrial field. The site previously turned out C-141 Starlifters and C-5 Galaxies, and in 2025 regional business groups lobbied to re-equip the wing with new C-130Js.
