## Description

Row after row of preserved airframes stretches across the desert here: Davis-Monthan's 309th AMARG – the famous Boneyard – stores more than 3,000 retired military aircraft, the largest such facility in the world. The Tucson base also hosts the 355th Wing and its A-10s. There are no civilian operations and no air cargo. Freight for the region moves through Tucson International, a few miles west.
