## Description

Dangriga Airport (DGA) is a single coastal strip serving Stann Creek District in southern Belize, busy with people and empty of freight: roughly 42 departures a day reach four domestic destinations, and there is no cargo terminal, no handling agent and no airfreight customs post. Tropic Air and Maya Island Air fly the small turboprops that link the town to Belize City, Placencia and other domestic points. The district's citrus, banana and seafood exports leave overland instead, by truck along the Hummingbird and Southern Highways and through the banana port of Big Creek — Belize has no railways at all. Urgent air shipments clear at Philip S. W. Goldson International (BZE) near Belize City, about two and a half hours to the north and the country's only airport with international cargo handling and customs. Shippers also route overland to Guatemala City (GUA) or San Pedro Sula (SAP) when capacity is tight. For forwarders, DGA is a passenger feeder whose value lies in moving staff and couriers quickly to BZE.
