## Description

Damxung Air Base in Damxung county north of Lhasa is a military high-altitude airfield at roughly 4,300 metres above sea level, with no IATA or ICAO identifier, no civil scheduled service and no freight handling. It has no commercial cargo relevance. Air freight for central Tibet is processed at Lhasa Gonggar (LXA), about 150 kilometres to the south, while surface traffic in the area runs on the Qinghai–Tibet railway, which has a station at Damxung, and on national highway G109.
