## Description

Daman (NMB/VADN) returned to the airline map in 2026: a new 3,700-square-metre civil terminal, branded NAMO Airport, was inaugurated on 5 June 2026, and Alliance Air began nonstop service to Delhi under India's UDAN regional scheme on 20 July 2026. Built by the union territory administration for about ₹124 crore, the facility is sized for up to 14 ATR movements a day and roughly 367,000 passengers a year. The field on India's west coast between Mumbai and Surat also remains an Indian Coast Guard station. There is no cargo terminal, no freight handling agent and no airfreight customs post on site, and ATR turboprops leave room for little more than small belly consignments. The territory's plastics, pharmaceutical and electronics manufacturers therefore keep routing air cargo through Surat (STV) or Mumbai (BOM), some 170 kilometres to the south, where clearance is handled. Heavy volumes travel by sea through the nearby ports of Hazira and Nhava Sheva.
