## Description

Steel from the Borlänge mill and forestry products from Dalarna leave central Sweden by rail and road, not through Dala Airport (BLE/ESSD). The regional field is run by the municipal company AB Dalaflyget and served by Dutch carrier AIS Airlines, whose Stockholm Arlanda route is the mainstay alongside a Malmö service and a seasonal charter programme. There is no dedicated cargo terminal and no meaningful air freight handling, so BLE works as neither a tender nor a collection point for airfreight consignments. Forwarders consolidate instead at Örebro (ORB), about 120 kilometres south and Sweden's principal all-cargo airport with night operations, or at Stockholm Arlanda (ARN), roughly 200 kilometres east, where belly capacity and intercontinental connections are available. Landside, the Bergslagen railway and the E16 European route carry the region's volumes toward those gateways and toward the Baltic ports. As Sweden is an EU member state, customs clearance follows EU external-border procedures and takes place at the handling airport rather than in Borlänge.
