## Description

Just over 20,000 tonnes of cargo moved through Daegu International Airport (TAE) in 2023 – modest by Korean standards, and almost entirely belly freight on passenger services. The airport shares its runways with the K-2 air base and serves the Daegu-Gyeongbuk industrial region, whose machinery, electronics and textile exports mostly travel by truck to Incheon (ICN) for mainline uplift. International routes concentrate on Japan, China and Southeast Asia, giving forwarders limited but usable capacity for express and perishable shipments. A replacement airport in Gunwi/Uiseong is planned to take over both civil and military operations, so the current site's role is transitional. Until then, TAE remains a practical regional option with customs clearance on site.
