## Description

Brady sits closer to the geographic centre of Texas than any other town, yet Curtis Field (IATA: BBD, ICAO: KBBD) is firmly off the freight map. The city-owned field, about 5 km northeast of Brady in McCulloch County, opened in 1941 and trained US Army Air Forces pilots in World War II; today its asphalt runway 17/35 (about 1,400 m) handles general aviation, ranch flying and corporate or hunting charters, with 100LL and Jet A on site. There is no scheduled service and no air cargo. Express and LTL shipments truck to San Antonio or the Dallas hubs, each about two and a half hours away.
