Brady sits closer to the geographic centre of Texas than any other town, yet Curtis Field (IATA: BBD, ICAO: KBBD) is firmly off the freight map. The city-owned field, about 5 km northeast of Brady in McCulloch County, opened in 1941 and trained US Army Air Forces pilots in the Second World War; today its asphalt runway 17/35, 4,605 feet or roughly 1,400 metres, handles general aviation, ranch flying and corporate or hunting charters, with 100LL and Jet A on site.
