## Description

Botiflaca is the concentrator site of the Cuajone copper mine in Peru's Moquegua region, and the strip beside it is an industrial airfield rather than a public airport. At roughly 3,400 m elevation with an asphalt runway of about 760 m it can only take light aircraft; no scheduled flights and no documented freight operation exist, so cargo relevance is limited at best. Mine traffic moves overland and by rail towards the coast, while air freight for southern Peru goes through Arequipa (AQP), Tacna (TCQ) or Lima (LIM).
