Wizz Air has reshaped Craiova International Airport (IATA: CRA, ICAO: LRCV): based here since July 2014, the low-cost carrier serves 14 routes across seven countries from the southern-Romanian field in Oltenia, including Paris Beauvais, Naples, Athens and Barcelona. The airport handled 578,701 passengers in 2025, its strongest year so far. Scheduled freight handling does not exist; a dedicated cargo terminal costing a reported €100 million is planned but neither built nor operating, and the low-cost carriers based here do not sell belly capacity.
