## Description

At the southern end of Andros, the largest yet sparsely settled island of The Bahamas, Congo Town Airport (IATA: TZN, ICAO: MYAK), also listed as South Andros Airport, handles a thin stream of regional and tourist traffic on a single asphalt runway of about 1,623 metres. Flights link it to Nassau, where the country's air cargo is gathered. TZN has no freight facilities, cargo airlines or handling agents of its own; goods for South Andros travel as belly loads on the regional flights or, for volume and building materials, by mailboat. Import customs clearance takes place in Nassau (NAS), the entry point for virtually all goods reaching the island chain. San Andros (SAQ) at the northern end of the same island is a comparable field, likewise without cargo infrastructure. The area is known for its eco-lodges, its bonefishing and the barrier reef that runs along the island's eastern edge.
