## Description

A 3,048-metre runway — the longest on Vancouver Island — is the defining asset of Comox Valley Airport (YQQ/CYQQ), which shares it with Canadian Forces Base Comox and the Royal Canadian Air Force's CP-140 Aurora maritime patrol squadron. The civil side set an all-time record in 2025 with 449,849 passengers, up 11.7 per cent year on year and roughly 29,000 above the previous best from 2018. Air Canada, WestJet and Pacific Coastal link the field to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Kelowna, moving time-sensitive freight as belly load, while the airport separately markets cargo and corporate charter handling.
