In the Santa river valley below the Cordillera Blanca, roughly 20 kilometres northwest of Huaraz, Comandante FAP Germán Arias Graziani Airport (ATA/SPHZ) sits at about 2,773 metres above sea level. Scheduled traffic returned in July 2024 after the terminal and runway were upgraded, and LATAM now flies the field daily from Lima; the drive into Huaraz takes some 40 minutes, with a shuttle linking the terminal to the city centre.
