## Description

Unlike the national gateway at St. John's, Codrington Airport (BBQ) is a single-strip field serving Barbuda's small island community. Traffic is dominated by light inter-island hops to Antigua plus charter, medevac and occasional cargo flights, with no scheduled freight handling on site. Time-sensitive or heavier consignments route through V.C. Bird International (ANU) some 40 km to the southwest, then onward by Amerijet to Miami or San Juan. Since the post-Irma rebuild of 2017, the strip has mainly carried construction materials and supplies as belly load on small aircraft.
