## Description

Chuhuiv in Ukraine's Kharkiv Oblast is a military airfield, not a civil airport: the base was struck and damaged on 24 February 2022 at the start of the Russian invasion, and the town remains under attack — most recently in a drone strike in early September 2026 that killed three people. No civil or cargo aviation operates there; Ukrainian airspace is closed to civil traffic, and there is no IATA code, no ground handling and no customs clearance for air freight. Consignments for Ukraine therefore route through airports in neighbouring countries, chiefly Rzeszów-Jasionka (RZE) and Warsaw (WAW) in Poland, followed by road haulage across the land borders.
