## Description

Five years of construction, 1.3 billion yuan, and a first for Chinese aviation: when Xiannüshan Airport (CQW) opened in December 2020, it became the country's first civil airport built inside a top-rated 5A scenic area. The 2,800-metre, category 4C facility flies tourists to the UNESCO-listed Wulong Karst, with capacity for 600,000 passengers a year. Cargo handling does not exist. Airfreight for the area is processed at Chongqing Jiangbei (CKG), one of western China's biggest cargo airports.
