## Description

Chingozi Airport (TET/FQTT) is the gateway to Tete, capital of Mozambique's coal-rich northwest and neighbour to the vast Moatize mine, which produces around 22 million tonnes a year. Its 2.4 km paved runway handles regional jets on domestic routes — notably to Maputo — and serves the mining workforce rather than freight. Coal moves out by the Sena railway to the ports of Beira and Nacala, not by air. The airport has no dedicated cargo terminal; air shipments are limited to urgent spares and higher-value mining goods. Larger air freight is routed via Maputo or Johannesburg.
