## Description

Also known as Borzya-2, Chindant is a Russian Air Force airfield about 13 km west of the town of Borzya in the Transbaikal region of eastern Siberia. It served as a fighter base from 1961, home to the 189th Guards Fighter-Bomber Regiment flying Sukhoi Su-17s until the unit was disbanded in 1998. There is no civilian traffic and no commercial cargo: the field carries no IATA or ICAO commercial codes and offers no freight handling. Air cargo for the region moves through Chita-Kadala (HTA), while the town of Borzya is a rail junction on the Trans-Baikal line toward the Chinese and Mongolian borders.
