## Description

Designed for 550,000 passengers and 3,000 tonnes of freight a year, Chenzhou Beihu Airport (HCZ) opened on 16 September 2021 as southern Hunan's feeder airport, with routes including Beijing Daxing and Shanghai. The 2,600-metre, category 4C facility serves a city known as China's 'home of non-ferrous metals' – tungsten, bismuth and graphite – and host of an international mineral and gem show. Actual cargo throughput remains minimal, with no regular freighter service or dedicated handling. Forwarders route airfreight via Changsha Huanghua (CSX) or Guangzhou Baiyun (CAN), both well connected by high-speed rail and motorway.
