## Description

Around 1.4 million tonnes — that is the cargo capacity Chengdu Tianfu is built to handle in 2025, supported by roughly ten international freighter routes. Opened only in 2021, the airport absorbed most of Chengdu's international and cargo traffic from older Shuangliu in March 2023, becoming the primary field of the city's two-airport system. A new fully automated cargo terminal, equipped by Lödige Systems with elevating transfer vehicles and a five-level automated ULD store of 227 positions, anchors the international freight operation.
