Some 570 kilometres of roadless tundra separate Chaybukha Airport (ICAO: UHMG) from the nearest cargo hub, which is why this paved strip in northern Magadan Oblast matters at all. About 8 km north-east of the Chaybukha settlement in the Russian Far East, its runway 06/24 takes mid-size regional aircraft and gives a sparsely populated region its year-round link by air. There is no cargo terminal, customs post or scheduled freighter; goods, mail and supplies ride as belly load on regional flights. For genuine air cargo, Magadan-Sokol (GDX) to the south-west is the nearest meaningful gateway.
