## Description

The new international freight terminal at Changsha Huanghua International Airport (CSX) — Terminal 3 — has been fully operational since June 2026, lifting annual cargo capacity to roughly 110,000 tonnes and expandable to 140,000. Around 210,000 tonnes of cargo crossed the airport in Hunan province in 2024, and a 150%-plus surge in imported perishables followed in 2025. The airport is cargo-capable across a broad mix of cross-border e-commerce, high-value industrial goods and chilled or fresh produce, served by 24 international routes spanning five continents. Since April 2024 a fifth-freedom freighter route has linked Addis Ababa, Liège and Changsha, flown by Ethiopian Cargo, alongside scheduled services to Moscow, New York and Los Angeles and a weekly e-commerce rotation to Bangkok. Domestic integrators such as SF Airlines handle the fast-growing online-retail flows. Changsha is home to global construction-machinery makers Sany and Zoomlion, whose high-value parts move air-side, while expressways and high-speed rail tie CSX into central China's industrial core. Dedicated freighters make up about 5% of movements and are rising.
