## Description

Five CC-177 Globemaster III heavy-lifters, around fourteen CC-130J Super Hercules and the entire CC-150 Polaris fleet operate from CFB Trenton (YTR), home to 8 Wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force. The base is Canada's centre for strategic and tactical airlift, aerial refuelling, worldwide humanitarian missions and resupply of the high Arctic. For freight forwarders, one point is decisive: YTR is a purely military airfield and does not handle commercial cargo. Commercial shipments for southeastern Ontario move through Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and, above all, the express-freight airport at Hamilton (YHM), base for Cargojet, DHL, UPS and Amazon Air. Sitting on Highway 401 between Toronto and Montreal, the region is also tightly linked to long-haul trucking. Trenton handles enormous tonnage, but exclusively in uniform. It remains the backbone of Canadian military air mobility rather than civil freight.
