## Description

Armoured vehicles, disaster-relief pallets and Arctic resupply loads move through CFB Trenton (YTR/CYTR) in Quinte West, Ontario, yet none of it ever appears on an air waybill. 8 Wing of the Royal Canadian Air Force runs the country's strategic and tactical airlift from here: five CC-177 Globemaster III with 429 Squadron, CC-130J Super Hercules with 436 Squadron, and 437 Squadron transitioning from the retired CC-150 Polaris to nine CC-330 Husky tanker-transports. Commercial freight is not an option: civil aircraft are admitted for emergencies or medevac only, prior permission is required two business days ahead, and CBSA clears general aviation of up to 15 passengers on site. Southeastern Ontario's commercial air cargo therefore runs through Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and the express freight airport at Hamilton (YHM), home to Cargojet, DHL, UPS and Amazon Air.
