## Description

Planned as the only inland airport in Mindanao capable of commercial service, Central Mindanao Airport near M'lang is still taking shape on the ground rather than in the air. The provincial government of Cotabato and the Department of Transportation have pushed the project forward, with roughly PHP 300 million committed in 2024 and additional hectares acquired to align the runway. Until it opens, residents and shippers across the central highlands rely on Davao (DVO) and nearby Cotabato/Awang (CBO) for flights and uplift. Cargo handling is not yet a factor, as no terminal or apron facilities are operating. The long-term aim is to give farm-rich central Mindanao its own direct window onto the air network.
