## Description

Cat Lake Airport (YAC/CYAC) in the Kenora District of north-western Ontario is the year-round lifeline of Cat Lake First Nation, roughly 180 kilometres north of Sioux Lookout. There is no permanent road: a seasonal winter road from Pickle Lake opens only in the cold months, so food, building materials, fuel and equipment are flown in for the rest of the year. North Star Air, Perimeter Aviation and Slate Falls Airways serve the field, mainly from Sioux Lookout; there is no conventional cargo terminal and no customs post, with freight handled on the apron.
