## Description

Renamed in 1965 after the Irish nationalist Roger Casement, Casement Aerodrome (ICAO: EIME; no IATA code) at Baldonnel south-west of Dublin is the headquarters and sole airfield of the Irish Air Corps. In October 2025 it received a new Airbus C-295 in transport configuration, adding genuine military freight capacity for troops, equipment and humanitarian aid. The base is reserved strictly for Irish military use and runs no civilian or commercial cargo service. For air freight in the Dublin area, Dublin Airport (DUB) is the relevant gateway, while a €120 million expansion announced in 2025 will house the growing fleet.
