## Description

There is no ticket counter, no freight terminal and no customs desk at Cape Lisburne LRRS (LUR, ICAO PALU): the strip on Alaska's arctic north-west coast belongs to the US Air Force and exists purely to supply the long range radar site above it. Built in 1951, the gravel runway of roughly 1,460 metres sits inside the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge between the Chukchi Sea and the coastal range and is rated for medium transports such as the C-130.
