## Description

Canoas earned national attention in 2024, when the Brazilian Air Force base stepped in to host commercial flights after catastrophic floods shut Porto Alegre's Salgado Filho Airport. Ordinarily, though, it is a military installation, home to FAB squadrons rather than airlines. Air cargo is outside its scope: there is no commercial freight terminal and no scheduled cargo service.
