## Description

Angola's busiest domestic air route does not start in a mining town but in an enclave: Cabinda (CAB / FNCA) is cut off from the rest of the country by Congolese territory, and TAAG names it the domestic destination with the largest passenger and cargo volumes. Four daily Dash 8-Q400 rotations link it with Luanda, and since November 2024 those flights use the new Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ) instead of the old city field. The provincial economy revolves around offshore oil, so Cabinda Gulf Oil Company traffic shapes both scheduled seats and support charters. CAB has no dedicated freight building, which means air cargo travels in the belly of turboprops or on oil-industry charters, with international consignments consolidated at NBJ. Containers and project cargo arrive by sea through the Caio deep-water terminal about eight kilometres from the city, offering a 700-metre quay, 15.5 metres of depth and capacity for vessels up to 5,000 TEU, now put out to concession by the Angolan state. Pointe-Noire (PNR) in the Republic of the Congo, roughly a hundred kilometres to the north-west, is the nearest foreign alternative.
