## Description

A 4,500-foot runway completed in 2016 and a spread of helipads define Butts Army Airfield (FCS/KFCS) at Fort Carson, south of Colorado Springs — infrastructure built for rotary-wing and unmanned aircraft, not for freighters. The field, formally redesignated an army heliport in 2022, is home to the 4th Combat Aviation Brigade flying Chinooks, Black Hawks and Apaches in support of the US Army's 4th Infantry Division.
