## Description

Buckreef is a gravel strip of roughly 1,000 metres on the site of the gold project of the same name in Tanzania's Geita region, south of Lake Victoria, with no IATA or ICAO code and no scheduled service. The mine is run by Buckreef Gold Company, a joint venture of TRX Gold and the state-owned STAMICO; the strip exists primarily for medical evacuation and operational charter flights, not for moving goods. There is no freight handling and no customs post: supplies and output travel by road to Mwanza, about 110 kilometres to the northeast, and through the airports of Mwanza (MWZ), Kilimanjaro (JRO) and Dar es Salaam (DAR).
