## Description

Civil flying at Bryansk (BZK/UUBP) has been suspended since 24 February 2022, when Russia's aviation authority Rosaviatsiya closed eleven airports in the south and west of the country; the ban has been rolled over ever since. Before that, the airport 14 kilometres west of the city mainly linked Bryansk with Moscow, St Petersburg and southern Russian destinations, and it never had dedicated cargo infrastructure. For shippers this means air freight cannot currently be delivered directly to the Bryansk region, and no reopening has been confirmed. Consignments instead arrive through the Moscow airports Sheremetyevo (SVO), Domodedovo (DME) and Vnukovo (VKO), followed by roughly 380 kilometres of trucking on the M3 highway. Western sanctions against Russia restrict or prohibit air freight and forwarding services for many categories of goods and must be checked case by case. Customs clearance takes place only at Russian customs offices in Moscow or in the destination region.
