## Description

Royal Brunei Airlines makes its home at Brunei International Airport (BWN), the sultanate's sole international gateway on the edge of Bandar Seri Begawan and the base for essentially all of Brunei's air cargo. Freight moves mainly in the bellyholds of the carrier's Airbus and Boeing 787 fleet, with the Brunei International Airport Cargo Centre (BIACC) providing a terminal rated at around 50,000 tonnes a year, computerised handling and customs-bonded storage. The operation specialises in perishables, pharmaceuticals and high-value goods, while the country's oil-and-gas economy adds energy-sector equipment and spares to the typical traffic mix. Customs clearance runs through the Royal Customs and Excise Department. Just 18 km away lies the deep-water port of Muara, Brunei's main container port handling roughly 330,000 TEU a year, which keeps air-sea transshipment short and practical. National plans target about 38,000 tonnes of air cargo by 2030. For forwarders, BWN is the single relevant air-freight point for the whole country, best combined with Muara for heavier flows.
