## Description

Palmas–Brigadeiro Lysias Rodrigues Airport (IATA: PMW, ICAO: SBPJ) handled about 723,000 passengers in 2024, up roughly 3% year on year, and its air cargo travels almost entirely as belly freight on those passenger services. Opened in 2001 alongside Brazil's youngest state capital, the field is named after a co-founder of the Brazilian Air Force and has been privately run since the 2021 concession — first by CCR, renamed Motiva in April 2025, and since November 2025 by Mexican operator ASUR, which acquired the portfolio; a R$36 million upgrade was completed in 2024.
