## Description

Breiðdalsvík airfield (BXV/BIBV) in Iceland's Eastfjords is a short strip without scheduled service, used for ambulance, search-and-rescue and occasional private flights. There is no cargo handling, terminal or customs post, so it has no air freight relevance. Cargo and supplies for the east of the country move through Egilsstaðir (EGS), around 100 kilometres north, and through Keflavík (KEF), Iceland's international freight gateway, with coastal shipping into the Eastfjord harbours playing an important complementary role.
