Branson Airport (IATA: BKG, ICAO: KBBG) opened in 2009 as the first commercial-service airport in the United States built and operated entirely with private capital, and it carries passengers only — roughly 5,600 of them in 2024 — with no scheduled cargo at all. The single-runway field in the Missouri Ozarks was designed to deliver theatre audiences, Silver Dollar City visitors and Table Rock Lake holidaymakers straight to the door.
