## Description

Brač Airport (IATA: BWK, ICAO: LDSB) handled roughly 17,500 passengers in 2025, 11.3 per cent fewer than a year earlier, and it remains a summer-only field with no air cargo operation. Croatia's highest commercial airport sits on a karst plateau 541 m above the Adriatic near Gornji Humac, 14 km from Bol and the Zlatni Rat beach and about 30 km from the ferry town of Supetar. Seasonal charters and Croatia Airlines flights from Zagreb make up the traffic, while winter activity is minimal. The runway was lengthened from 1,440 to 1,760 m, largely financed by hotelier Jako Andabak, which allows aircraft carrying more than a hundred passengers to serve the island. There is no cargo terminal, no freighter service and no based freight carrier; the little that flies moves as belly load on summer passenger flights. The island is supplied by sea instead: the Split-Supetar ferry runs nine times a day off-season and up to fourteen in July and August, with trucking onward across the island. For air freight and customs clearance, shippers use Split (IATA: SPU) on the mainland opposite or Zagreb (IATA: ZAG), some 400 road kilometres north and Croatia's principal cargo airport.
