## Description

One runway, 04/22, thin domestic traffic and no freight infrastructure: Bo Airport (IATA: KBS, ICAO: GFBO), run by the Sierra Leone Airports Authority, has no cargo terminal, no handling agent and no customs post, despite serving the country's second city and the trading hub of the Southern Province. All air freight for Bo therefore passes through Freetown-Lungi International (FNA), Sierra Leone's only international airport, where private handler Sky Handling Partner covers cargo, ramp and passenger services. Customs clearance at Lungi can take considerable time and backlogs are common, so schedules should allow for it. Lungi also lies north of the Sierra Leone River, so consignments bound for Freetown and the interior must cross the water or take the long land route.
