## Description

A 400-metre runway extension changed everything: since 2014, Birmingham Airport (IATA: BHX, ICAO: EGBB) has hosted nonstop long-haul — and with it, belly cargo capacity for the West Midlands. Emirates serves Dubai several times daily, at times with the A380, alongside links to the Indian subcontinent: trade lanes with dense freight demand from the region's industry and diaspora. A dedicated cargo area with customs clearance handles bellyhold consignments; full freighters remain the exception, and much regional tonnage still trucks to East Midlands or Heathrow.
