## Description

Birao (IRO, ICAO FEFI) in the far northeast of the Central African Republic is a basic airstrip used mainly by humanitarian organisations and peacekeeping missions. There is no commercial scheduled or freight service, no cargo terminal and no air-cargo customs post, and the region is at times hard to reach overland. Planned air freight for the Central African Republic moves through Bangui M'Poko (BGF), the country's only international airport.
