Two passenger terminals and one international cargo terminal define the working layout of Biju Patnaik International Airport (BBI/VEBS) in Bhubaneswar, capital of the eastern Indian state of Odisha: Terminal 1 for domestic services, Terminal 2 for international flights, and an AAICLAS-operated freight facility designed for roughly 26,490 tonnes a year. Kolkata (CCU), roughly 400 road kilometres to the north-east, remains the fallback when a shipment needs freighter capacity or a wider long-haul network.
