## Description

With a design capacity of 800,000 passengers a year, Betong Airport (BTZ) was built to open up Thailand's far south near the Malaysian border — yet for almost three years it saw no scheduled commercial service at all. Operations only resumed in June 2025, when Ezy Airlines began flying the Hat Yai–Betong route with small Cessna 208B Grand Caravan aircraft. Traffic is essentially tourist-driven, serving visitors to the area's famous "sea of mist" viewpoint and Thailand's southernmost town. The airport has no dedicated cargo terminal. Freight for forwarders is handled through Hat Yai International Airport (HDY) some 140 km to the north, or via Bangkok.
