## Description

Despite sitting in a diamond, coffee and timber trading area, Berbérati Airport (BBT, ICAO FEFT) is a modest regional field rather than a freight centre. It lies about two kilometres south of the town in the southwest of the Central African Republic, close to the Cameroon border, and works a single runway 17/35 with no commercial cargo handling and no customs post of its own. Traffic is limited to irregular regional services plus United Nations and humanitarian relief flights out of the capital. Air freight with international connections and clearance is consolidated at Bangui M'Poko (BGF), roughly 300 kilometres to the northeast. In practice most of the country's imports still arrive overland from the port of Douala in Cameroon, a corridor that ties Berbérati more closely to Cameroon than to its own capital, making Douala (DLA) the realistic alternative gateway for international shipments. For forwarders, BBT is a remote delivery endpoint rather than an operational cargo base.
