## Description

Unlike most fields of its size, Beni (IATA: BNC, ICAO: FZNP) in North Kivu province carries real weight: its runway measures about 3,600 m, reportedly the longest in eastern DR Congo, and the airport gained international status after access to Goma became difficult. Compagnie Africaine d'Aviation serves Bukavu, Bunia, Goma, Isiro, Kalemie, Kisangani and Lubumbashi among others, while Beni and neighbouring Butembo form a significant trading centre for imports from Asia.
