## Description

A single 2,000-metre strip, in service since 1982, is the entire freight infrastructure of Belaya Gora Airport (IATA BGN, ICAO UESG) in the far north of Russia's Sakha Republic (Yakutia). Opened in 1974 on the bank of the Indigirka River, it keeps the remote administrative centre of Abyysky District connected and is sized for An-24 and An-26 turboprops and helicopters. Polar Airlines and IrAero fly to Yakutsk (YKS), about 1,040 km away, mostly on a seasonal schedule of roughly four flights a week from June to October. There is no cargo terminal and no air-side customs; the field serves resupply, mail, charter and medevac flights. Heavy goods reach the area over the winter ice road and by river barge on the Indigirka during the short navigation season — the so-called northern delivery. For air freight Yakutsk is the relevant hub, and consignment dimensions are governed by the An-26 cargo door rather than by any pallet standard.
