## Description

Two names for two different airfields cause constant confusion here: Beijing Nanjiao opened on 30 September 2019 as a People's Liberation Army Air Force base immediately beside Beijing Daxing International, taking over the military role of the older Nanyuan field further north. Nanyuan itself closed on 25 September 2019 after 109 years as China's oldest airport, yet its IATA code NAY still travels through many databases attached to this site. Nanjiao handles no civil flights, no passengers and no freight, so it is not an address forwarders can use. China United Airlines, Nanyuan's last civil operator, moved its entire schedule to Daxing in 2019. Air cargo for southern Beijing therefore goes through Beijing Daxing (PKX), which has its own cargo terminal and customs facilities, with Beijing Capital (PEK) in the north-east as the second option. For larger intercontinental volumes, Tianjin Binhai (TSN) about 130 km south-east is worth checking, linked by motorway road feeder services.
