## Description

Daxing moved about 368,700 tonnes of cargo and mail in 2025 – solid growth, yet still a fraction of the roughly two million tonnes its 24 freighter stands were built to handle. Opened only in 2019, Beijing Daxing (PKX) relieves the older Beijing Capital with a Zaha Hadid starfish terminal that remains the largest single-building airport terminal in the world. Its long-haul network is filling in fast: since 13 June 2026 Air China flies PKX nonstop to Milan Malpensa, weeks after launching its Frankfurt service in late April, each widebody route adding fresh belly capacity for exporters. More than 30 carriers, among them China Southern and Qatar Airways, now serve the airport. The freight strategy targets Europe and Americas trunk lanes, Southeast Asian cold-chain traffic and Central Asian cross-border e-commerce. High-speed rail and expressways link PKX to central Beijing, the new Xiong'an district and the wider Hebei province. Positioned to capture China's high-value manufacturing and online-retail exports, Daxing is the capital's fast-rising freight complement to PEK.
