## Description

Air China and its freight arm Air China Cargo anchor Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK, ICAO: ZBAA), whose Beijing Cargo Terminal — about 50,000 square metres for international traffic and 24,000 for domestic — handles roughly 40 freighter and passenger carriers. The airport moved around 1.55 million tonnes of air cargo in 2025, up 7.5 percent, with January 2026 alone running near 128,000 tonnes; first-half 2025 volume had already reached about 746,000 tonnes, up 5.9 percent. Asiana Airlines and Cathay Pacific are among the lines feeding a network that spanned more than 200 destinations in over 50 countries by spring 2026, with heavy freight lanes to Chicago O'Hare, New York and Seoul. Temperature-controlled facilities cover pharma, perishables and high-value electronics. On the passenger side PEK counted about 70.7 million travellers in 2025, staying China's busiest passenger airport.
